Ingredients:

  • 4 Fieldstone Bakery Honey Buns

  • 4 cups chopped apples (any variety)

  • 1 lemon (for juicing)

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter

  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar

  • ¼ cup white sugar

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • Optional topping: whipped cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat your waffle iron.

  2. Lightly spray or butter the waffle iron to prevent sticking.

  3. Place a Honey Bun in the center of the waffle iron and close the lid.

  4. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the Honey Bun is golden and crispy on the outside.

  5. Meanwhile, prepare the cinnamon apples. Peel, core, and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces. Squeeze lemon juice over the apples to prevent browning.

  6. In a pan with high sides or a cast iron skillet, melt butter over low heat. Add the brown sugar, white sugar, and cinnamon, stirring until melted.

  7. Add the chopped apples to the pan and cook for 12-14 minutes, stirring frequently until the apples are softened.

  8. Remove the waffle from the iron, top with warm cinnamon apples, and serve immediately. Add a few dollops of whipped cream on top if desired.
