Spread The Love: Brownies With Cream Cheese Frosting
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 cups confectioner sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt
5 drops red food coloring
1. Beat cream cheese and butter on high speed until smooth and creamy.
2. Add confectioners sugar and beat on low speed. Once sugar is fully incorporated, beat on high speed while adding heavy cream. Keep on high speed until the frosting is light and fluffy, about two to three minutes. If you want thicker frosting, add 1/4 cup additional sugar.
3. Add five drops of red food coloring and beat until color is evenly distributed. Frost cake as desired.
You may want to add more or less food coloring to the frosting, depending on your taste. Start with a couple of drops and work your way up to the color you want.- Remember, you can always add more but you can’t take more out!
